languageuniversity.hearnow.com/listosThis song teaches Spanish vocabulary related to the farm. It also teaches the usage of the verb "Tengo" to mean "I have" and four farm animals: caballo (horse), vaca (cow), cerdo (pig), and oveja (sheep).
NOTE: The word we choose to mean “farm” in this lesson is "rancho." If you’ve had any previous exposure to Spanish, the word for “farm” that you learned might be "granja." As there are 22 countries or territories where Spanish is spoken in significant numbers, this leaves a lot of room for regional variation. Generally speaking, "granja" is the true Spanish word for “farm.” However, the kind of farm you might encounter in Mexico or in the American Southwest would be better classified as a ranch. Not to mention “Tengo una granja…” is more difficult to say and does not fit the meter of the “Old MacDonald” song, even though we’ve heard other language programs try to awkwardly crowbar that phrase into the melody!
