I Won MontPhoto 2026… This Is What It Feels Like

Well… this is a rather special one.
My black leopard image has won the Overall Award at MontPhoto 2026, and I wanted to make a short video about what that actually feels like.
Awards are strange things. As a wildlife photographer you spend years in the field, have incredible encounters, endure plenty of failures and occasionally everything comes together for a fraction of a second. This image of a black leopard was one of those moments.
In this video I tell the story behind the photograph, what it means to me personally, and what it feels like to see an image that I created recognised with the overall title at one of Europe’s major nature photography competitions.
A huge thank you to everyone at MontPhoto, to all the people who have supported my photography over the years, and of course to the people in Kenya who made this particular encounter possible.
Sometimes this job still manages to completely surprise me.
And if you want to come with me and share my love of leopards we are just about to release more dates for 2027 and 2028 so checkout www.wildbunchexpeditions.com
